TAMPA, Fla, February 17, 2018- Suffolk celebrated a notable milestone with the topping off of the first building at Manor Riverwalk, a 400 unit luxury rental community being developed by The Related Group in downtown Tampa.
Approximately 200 trade partners, along with representatives from Suffolk and developer The Related Group, marked the event with a special luncheon held on Friday, February 16, 2018.
This celebration of the tallest north tower building marks the completion of the first phase of the project. Once complete, this transformative multifamily community will include an eight-story waterfront complex with three wings stretching east, a center wing which appears to float over a pool and covered deck. Located on Tampa’s iconic South Parker Street, Manor Riverwalk is the first major development on the Western bank of the Hillsborough River.
“We’re extremely pleased with the progress of this major development in Tampa’s downtown core,” said Josh Christensen, vice president of west coast Florida operations. “We are also incredibly gratified to be a part of such an important part of Tampa’s evolution, and believe it is important to recognize all of the hard work of our outstanding team of trade partners.”
“This top-out signals another step towards our goal of developing a project that respects and complements the surrounding neighborhood and elevates the broader Tampa region,” added Arturo Peña, VP of Development for Related. “We look forward to finalizing construction and meeting Tampa’s growing demand for high-end living options.”
As part of Suffolk’s Build Smart approach, a number of innovative tools and processes, including virtual design and construction, have been utilized to execute the project. Using 3D modeling with integrated 4D scheduling, Suffolk is able to plan more effectively in the early stages of the project and execute the construction more efficiently as work progresses. The end result is enhanced predictability for the life of the project.
Construction has been underway since July 2017 and the project is expected to be completed in early 2019.
