CLEARWATER, Florida – (February 12, 2018) − Premier Physical Therapy and Sports Performance announces the transition of ownership to Dr. Hays S. Estes, board-certified orthopedic Doctor of Physical Therapy, and the clinic’s relocation to nearby 1661 Rainbow Dr. Clearwater, FL 33755.
The transition, effective January 15, was part of a joint long-range acquisition plan by Dr. Estes, DPT, MHA, OCS, CMT and former owner Eric Schweitzer, DPT, OCS, CMT, whose clinic had been located at 1206 Court St. in Clearwater. Dr. Estes joined Premier last year with the plan that allowed Dr. Schweitzer to step away from practicing physical therapy and pursue other opportunities.
Dr. Estes has former work experience as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, allowing him to combine the traditional aspects of physical therapy with the concepts of strength and conditioning to better serve his patients and community.
A graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Dr. Estes earned a Masters in Health Administration from Florida Atlantic University and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Florida.
He is a certified manual therapist, earning his certification through a year-long program offered by Evidence in Motion, a post-professional training that advances clinical competency. Dr. Estes is a certified Graston (instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization) practitioner, and treats vestibular dysfunction, vertigo, and balance disorders. Dr. Estes is proficient in Spanish, having previously practiced in clinics serving a mostly Hispanic patient population.
