“50 Shades of Talmud – What the Early Rabbis Had To Say About You-Know-What”

Book and Author Review

PRESENTED BY NOTED AUTHOR AND TALMUD SCHOLAR MAGGIE ANTON

The Tampa Ameet chapter of Hadassah is proud to invite the entire community to a special program “Talmud After Dark” on Wednesday, March 7 at 7 PM at Congregation Rodeph Sholom, 2713 Bayshore Blvd, Tampa, FL 33629,

The delightful irony of This book is that it shows readers how forward thinking the Rabbis were on the subject of sex by juxtaposing their centuries old views with the popular sayings from recent times.

As reviewed in the organization’s own Hadassah Magazine,
This delightful little gem of a book is recommended reading for any Jewish adult who has ever had or wanted to have sex. Non- Jews, too, will be fascinated, if not a bit envious learning about this aspect of our religion. Fifty Shades of Talmud gives us the skinny about “the how, when, where, and with whom” of sexual relations according to our Sages.
— Nancy Kalikow Maxwell, Hadassah Magazine

Maggie Anton is the award-winning author of the historical fiction series Rashi’s Daughter and Rave Hisda’s Daughter. She is a Talmud scholar with expertise in Jewish women’s history. Ms. Anton grew up in a secular household and discovered Judaism as an adult, beginning a lifetime of Jewish education and observance.

Funds raised through the event ticket cost of $ 25 and Patron tickets of $100 will be donated to Hadassah Hospital. The Patron tickets include 2 event tickets and meet / greet with the author. This event is open to the public. In addition to Ms. Anton’s presentation, questions will be discussed, books will be available for signature, and a desert buffet will be enjoyed by all.

For further information, call Event Co-Chairs Michele Norris 813-352-8765 or Jane Strom 813-334-6812.
