SARASOTA COUNTY – Big trucks will be rolling into Nathan Benderson Park this March for the annual Big Truck Day, and Sarasota County wants your truck to be part of the action.
Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources is looking for trucks to be showcased on Saturday, March 31, at the popular, annual event, which is held to give children and adults a chance to explore the vehicles and trucks they see on the streets as well as meet and speak with the people who operate them. Contact program coordinator Jamal Edwards at 941-486-2780 or jedwards@scgov.net if you’re interested in participating and providing a truck for the event.
In previous years, some of the big trucks featured were dump trucks, fire trucks, payloaders, bucket trucks and buses.
Now in its 22nd year, Big Truck Day will be at the new location, 5851 Nathan Benderson Circle, for 2018. Hosted by Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources and Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates, Inc., this year’s event, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
As in previous years, the event will also include the EGGstravaganza, featuring egg hunts for kids ages 4 and younger and those 5 and older. Food vendors will also be available.
