If so, Sarasota County is inviting you and your community to take part in the 2018 Neighborhood Challenge, a program that encourages neighbors to work together to achieve those goals.
The program runs through Sept. 30, and participants earn points by completing tasks, pursuing educational efforts and participating in designated initiatives. Any neighborhood in Sarasota County can participate, regardless of location or if your neighborhood is officially recognized as an association.
“A sustainable neighborhood is not only connected and engaged with their neighbors, but they have the tools and confidence to improve their overall quality of life,” said Jane Grogg, Neighborhood Services manager.
Neighborhoods will track their progress in the categories “Green,” “Healthy,” and “Involved,” using a companion resource guide that also offers details on where to find information on these available programs. The top three neighborhoods will be crowned 2018 Neighborhood Challenge Champions and be recognized by the Sarasota County Board of County Commissioners.
