New location offers coffee bar, local flavor, and in-store Brasserie Honoré

SARASOTA, Florida (January 31, 2018) – Whole Foods Market, America’s Healthiest Grocery Store®, opened the doors of its newest natural and organic community market today in Sarasota, FL.

The 40,000 square foot store, located at 5298 University Parkway in Sarasota employs approximately 180 locally hired team members. The store is the second Whole Foods Market location serving the Sarasota area and the 28th in the state of Florida.

“This store is a great opportunity for us to showcase what Whole Foods Market excels at,” said Store Team Leader Greg Linton. “We’ve created a space that is not only a beautiful place to grocery shop, but also a welcoming place to gather and enjoy delicious food.”

Whole Foods Market University Station was designed to offer a convenient grocery shopping experience across all departments, with the added element of enticing culinary showstoppers sure to delight customers.

Along with the chef-run prepared foods department serving hot and cold breakfast, lunch and dinner options, as well as fresh pizza and Genji sushi rolled on site, Whole Foods Market University Station boasts Brasserie Honoré, serving French classics like steak frites, charcuterie and made to order crepes, along with beer and sommelier selected wines, all to be enjoyed in a comfortable lounge and bar setting with weekly live music nights.

Shoppers looking for a quick boost will enjoy the Allegro Coffee Bar serving nitro cold brew coffee and tea for a smooth, creamy cup. Self-serve cold-pressed juices and all natural sodas on tap are another option for drinks on the go.

Locally sourced products are showcased across all departments, including produce, grocery, seafood, meat, specialty, bakery and Whole Body; all meeting the company’s strict quality standards. Dining selections can be enjoyed on the go, in the indoor or outdoor seating areas. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in the store.

In keeping with the company’s commitment to supporting the communities they serve, Whole Foods Market University Station is marking the grand opening by donating 1% of the store store’s net sales back to community non-profit organizations on each of the first five days it is open. Recipients of the five 1% days are:
