The event connects entrepreneurs and innovators with businesses and support organizations
TAMPA, Fla. (Jan. 31, 2018) – The 2018 Synapse Innovation Summit will bring together innovators, entrepreneurs, corporations and community leaders for two days in Tampa to connect the thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Tampa Bay area and throughout Florida.
Industry leaders as keynote speakers and panelists to discuss the future of innovation in Florida at the Summit. Confirmed keynote speakers include IBM Chief Innovation Officer Bernard Meyerson, investor and developer Jeff Vinik, Henry Ford Health System Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer Mark Coticchia and Water Street Tampa’s Innovation Hub CEO Lakshmi Shenoy.
The Summit also offers an opportunity for technology innovators, research institutions, investors and leaders to explore possibilities in technology. Multiple innovation hubs will feature product demonstrations and expert speakers from some of the most exciting companies in the region.
The innovations hubs will focus on key sectors such as defense technology, internet of things (IOT), blockchain, cryptocurrency, wearables, robotics, 3D printing, renewables, energy, augmented reality, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital health, urban tech, and financial tech.
Attendees will also see new defense innovations being developed by companies and innovators from the Tampa Bay region and around the country in collaboration with SOFwerx, U.S. Special Operations Command’s Innovation Center and Platform.
Florida Funders, a hybrid venture capital fund and crowd-funding platform that invests in early-stage Florida technology companies, will host investor sessions for companies seeking funding. The companies will have the opportunity to pitch their businesses to the investors for possible funding and feedback. Last year, Florida Funders hosted 150 new and existing investors for an invite-only pitch luncheon at the Innovation Summit.
In addition to scheduled speakers and exhibitions, there will be networking sessions aimed to help attendees make meaningful connections and spur collaboration. A Synapse Social networking event caps the first day’s events in Thunder Alley with local culinary innovation, music with DJ Fresh, drinks, and a drone light show.
The Innovation Summit is partnering with Metropolitan Ministries’ Inside the Box, which is both a social enterprise and a culinary training institute that helps to provide culinary education to families in need and those transitioning from homelessness. All proceeds from the lunches will provide training and support for at-risk populations in the Tampa Bay region.
The Summit takes place March 28-29, 2018 at the Amalie Arena, 401 Channelside Dr. in Tampa. Register for the Synapse Innovation Summit at http://synapsesummit.com.
