Fourth Annual Run for GOOD 5K, Kids Run and Dog Walk Benefits Sarasota Classrooms
Sarasota, Fla. (January 29, 2018) – Achieva Credit Union’s fourth annual Run for GOOD 5K, Kids Run, and Dog Walk brought the community together for GOOD this past Saturday. Families and pets alike walked and ran to benefit local Sarasota schools.
The event gathered more than 400 participants who completed their course through Payne Park, along with an additional 25 sets of paws for the Dog Walk.
Awards were given to the top overall finishers in various male and female age group categories. All Kids Run participants received a finisher’s medal, and Dog Walk participants received a special dog goody bag. A golden retriever in his butterfly costume took the prize in the doggie costume contest.
“The Run for GOOD just keeps improving,” said Achieva CEO Gary Regoli. “I’m not sure who enjoys it more, Achieva or the community participants. Everyone involved has a great time outdoors while contributing to our children’s education.”
All participants were given a commemorative performance event shirt and a free post-run breakfast provided by Aramark Refreshments and sponsored by Solace Insurance.
The Achieva Run for GOOD provided $25,000 in classroom grants to local Sarasota schools this past year. These direct grants are administered by the Achieva Foundation, a 501(c)(3) Corporation, and distributed through the Education Foundation of Sarasota County. Overall, this foundation has raised more than $355,000 for local classrooms.
