LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – Halfacre Construction Company, a Lakewood Ranch-based commercial construction company, has been selected to build a therapeutic amenity for The Haven, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the lives of those with unique abilities.
Named the Judy’s Oasis Aquatic Center, Halfacre Construction will break ground on the 1,248-square-foot commercial pool this month. The $300,000 project will include a zero-depth entry with a ramp entrance, restroom facilities, a screened enclosure and an expansive brick paver deck. The new aquatic center is slated for completion in spring 2018.
The Haven will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on Monday, Feb. 5 at 9:30 a.m. to commemorate the occasion. The event’s special speakers will include Darryl Fry from The Fry Family Foundation, The Haven CEO Brad Jones, Halfacre Construction President Jack Cox and Sarasota County Commissioner Michael A. Moran.
“We are incredibly excited to add Judy’s Oasis as The Haven’s therapeutic aquatic center and truly thankful to the Fry Family Foundation for making this vision a reality,” said Brad Jones, The Haven’s CEO. “We are certain this new addition to our growing campus will be enjoyed by those we serve for many years to come.”
Located at 4405 DeSoto Road in Sarasota, The Haven currently serves more than 800 children and adults with disabilities through educational, residential and employment programs and services.
