Haneke Design creates a new responsive website for the Winter Haven Community Blood Center, extending the reach and spread of information surrounding blood drives
Tampa, FL – (Jan 22, 2018) – Saving lives one donation at a time, that’s the goal of the Winter Haven Community Blood Center. Much like its name, the Community Blood Center is deeply entrenched in the Central Florida area-conducting blood drives in its bloodmobile almost every day across the region. With so many events and information to share, they needed a website that could get them even more connected to those who wish to donate, or simply learn more about the blood donation process.
With the help of Haneke Design, the new Winter Haven Community Blood Center website has launched with a long-list of features to bring the WHHCBC’s mission to the forefront. Custom features like a widget that displays the Center’s current blood type needs enforces a sense of urgency and call-to-action for blood donations.
Another main feature of the site is to be able to browse all upcoming events, bloodmobile locations, and special monthly promotions. The center works with an outstanding list of partners like WaWa, Chic-fil-A, and Walmart to sponsor events across the Central Florida region. On the website, users are able to “Save their Spot” and pre-register for any of the Blood Center events.
“Making the website speak to community involvement was at the forefront of the design,” said Jamie Dennis, associate design director at Haneke Design. “We wanted to make it as easy as possible for the center to keep their website up-to-date with the latest events and promotions they were offering in their packed schedule. It was so important that we created a site that was simple and easy to manage.”
Custom design elements that appear as ads across the site create more areas for the center to promote marketing material and give users more opportunity to discover content on the site. With eye-catching images and impactful messaging, these ads provide more places to speak to the goals of their site: getting more people to donate blood and educating them on what to know about blood donation.
The new WHHCBC’s website is not only for potential donors, but hospitals are now able to request blood directly on the website. “One thing we needed from the new website was the ability for hospitals to request blood from the center,” said Kayla Kapp, marketing manager at WHHCBC. “Making this process digital is something that very few blood centers in the country have been able to do in the past. Making the site easy and useful for both the blood donors and the hospitals was our top priority.”
Not only is their new website useful, but it also brings their mission to life with colorful images and custom photography organized by Haneke Design. This website will be viewed by many and represents that it’s the people who donate blood who are the glue that holds their community together.
