TAMPA, Florida – Adams and Reese Tampa partner Lynn Welter Sherman was selected to the Board of Directors of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) Florida Network for 2018, the organization announced earlier this month.
The IWIRC Florida Network was founded in 2003 with the goal of connecting female professionals who comprise the state’s insolvency and restructuring community. Through networking events, cocktail receptions and educational programs, the entity works to deliver a wide range of benefits to its members and attendees. Sherman’s term on the organization’s Board of Directors will run through 2020.
Sherman joined Adams and Reese in 2012 and has practice law since 1983. She represents financial institutions, special servicers of securitized commercial mortgages, creditors, trustees, landlords, debtors committees and other parties in all aspects of Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcies, out-of-court workouts, loan modifications and restructuring, foreclosures, collection and enforcement of judgments, enforcement of security interests, and creditors’ rights litigation.
Active in the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association and the Business Law Section of The Florida Bar, Sherman is a current member of the Executive Council of the Business Law Section of The Florida Bar, and previously served as chair of the Bankruptcy/UCC Committee (2015-16) and the chair of the Bankruptcy Judicial Liaison Committee of the Business Law Section. She also served as the Section’s former Communications Chair.
Sherman is a former adjunct professor at her alma mater, Stetson University College of Law, where she earned her J.D. in 1983. She also received an LL.M. in Taxation from the New York University School of Law in 1989 and a bachelor of science from Florida Southern College in 1980.
