December 26, 2017 by Post

SARASOTA, FL, December 26, 2017 – Sarasota Musica Viva, the area’s professional non-profit chamber music organizations will present “Peter and the Wolf” on Sunday, January 14th, 2018 at 6:00 PM at the Manatee Performing Arts Center 502 3rd Ave W, Bradenton, FL 34205. The program entitled “Celebrating The Children” also includes La Cheminee Du Roi Rene (The Stroll Of King Rene) written by Darius Milhaud and Variations on Twinkle, Twinkle which includes an introduction and demonstration of each of the five instruments in the group. Susan Giles Wantuck, News and Classical Music Host, WUSF Public Radio will narrate.

“What we love about this program is the joyful and playful repertoire performed by a professional woodwind quintet which will interact and bring a new awareness and passion for timeless repertoire to an audience who might not have ever experienced this before,” explains Linda Bento Rei, Artistic Director.  “The repertoire on this program and the manner in which it is presented creates a unique opportunity to excite new audience members, young and old, about classical music.”

This performance is part of the “Sunset Classics” chamber music series at the Manatee Performing Arts Center. This program will celebrate the child in all of us and is appropriate for all ages. Families are encouraged to attend. Please visit www.manateeperformingartscenter.com or call (941) 748-5875 for ticket information. Children under twelve are admitted free.
