During the month of November the “Nourish to Flourish” program was the highlighted charity at the Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office. “Nourish to Flourish” was created as part of the Beth Dillinger Foundation, which was founded by Bob Dillinger, Public Defender for Pasco & Pinellas Counties, and his wife Kay Dillinger, in honor of their late daughter Beth Dillinger. The “Nourish to Flourish” program’s mission is to provide food to the estimated 7,000 children in our community who consistently go without regular meals.
“I want to thank tax collector Mike Fasano and his incredible staff for raising over $8,000 to feed chronically hungry children in Pasco County,” states Bob Dillinger. “Every penny goes to food as there are no administrative costs for the Nourish to Flourish program. What a great idea doing this. Citizens of Pasco should be proud of this unique way to help charities.”
The “Nourish to Flourish” program provides prepacked food trays that children identified as most in need can take home from school so they can eat on weekends. “Nourish to Flourish” works with local schools to distribute the food trays in dozens of schools in local communities. The funds raised at the Pasco Tax Collector’s office will cover the cost of 1800 meals.
“I applaud Public Defender Bob Dillinger and Mrs. Dillinger for their commitment to meeting the needs of children in our community through the creation of the ‘Nourish to Flourish’ program,” states Pasco Tax Collector Mike Fasano. “I have always believed that no child should go home hungry on weekends and have supported programs that address this need. Nourish to Flourish is one of the most respected child hunger programs in our community. I would like to thank every customer who visited our office or mailed in a donation this past November in support of this fine charity.”
