BRADENTON, Fla. – Tiffany Frickert, a physical therapist and an athletic trainer with Coastal Orthopedics Sports Medicine and Pain Management, stepped out of the office to visit Nolan Middle School’s pre-medical program students and provide them with background on careers in health care.
During the two presentations to eighth-grade students on Dec. 5, she gave presentations on balance and neurology and discussed the three main systems: vision, vestibular and movement. Frickert performed several demonstrations for posture and natural alignment, eye position and others.
She also explained her complex role as both an athletic trainer and a highly qualified health care professional, going into detail about collaborating with physicians and providing preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries.
“It was an honor to educate and engage the students of Nolan Middle School,” said Frickert. “They will be the future of our health care.”
To help prepare the students who are interested in a career in the medical field, Coastal Orthopedics’ staff have been presenting at Nolan Middle School since 2015.
