Tampa, December 13, 2017 – Mari Colgan of Yellowfin Realty was recently installed as the 2018 president of the Greater Tampa REALTORS®(GTR) at the association’s 106th annual installation and awards banquet. Colgan has been in real estate for more than 18 years, is an advocate for homeowner property rights and has served on several committees for both the local and state REALTOR® associations.
In addition to Colgan, the 2018 officers and directors were installed. The officers installed include: President-Elect Dan Hazy (Homexpress Realty, Inc.); Vice President Ashley Christie (NextHome Discovery); Secretary Bob Pasquarello (Century 21 Beggins Enterprises) and Treasurer Darlene Davenport (Smith & Associates Real Estate).
The directors include: Ruth Bryson (Bryson International Realty); Anthony Canizares (RE/MAX ALL PROS); John Daux (People’s Choice Realty Services); Marvin Gordon (Sun Bay Realty); Nico Hohman (Hohman Homes); Lea Lagueux (Future Home Realty); Ellie Lambert (Ellie & Associates Realty); Brad Monroe (Suncoast Realty Solutions); Jay Quigley (Florida Executive Realty); Carl Shenning (BHHS Florida Realty) and Ex-Officio members: Bridget Jenkins-Wilson (Cardinal Roofing and Solar), Affiliate Chair; Marie Gregorio (Century 21 List with Beggins), 2018 Women’s Council of REALTORS® president; and Immediate Past President Joe Perez (Keller Williams Tampa Properties).
Awards were also presented to GTR members for their contributions to the association and the community. The association’s top award, the 2017 REALTOR® of the Year, was presented to Andy Joe Scaglione (Empire Commercial Realty Service). Scaglione, a 30+ year member of GTR, has served on the boards of the local, state and national REALTOR® associations and has extensive experience in the business sector.
The Edward T. Starr Award, given to the GTR committee chair who exhibits outstanding leadership and service to the association, was presented to John Daux with People’s Choice Realty. Daux chaired the association’s 2017 Young Professionals Network Advisory Board and was very involved in organizing community outreach events for the group.
Mary Odum of Coldwell Banker Residential received the Meritorious Service Award. The award recognizes a GTR member who has a record of exemplary service to the association over an extended period. Odum has served on GTR’s Professional Standards Committee for more than 30 years and served as the first chairperson of the Tampa Bay International Real Estate Council.
The REALTOR® Community Service Award –named in honor of the late C. Ed Owings, 1961 GTR president—was given to Jo Easton (Jo Easton Realty Group). This award recognizes the member who has performed outstanding service to the community. Easton has previously chaired the Hillsborough County Human Resource Board, Historic Review Board, and won the Heart Award for Affordable Housing from the Housing Education Alliance. She is also the current secretary for the USF Community Civic Association and on the Board of the University Area Community Development Corporation.
