SARASOTA, FL – For the third year, Goodwill Manasota and 92.1 CTQ partnered for “Young Guns of Country,” a free concert featuring some of country music’s hottest young acts. Rising stars Midland – who were just nominated for two Grammy Awards – Walker McGuire and Delta Rae rocked approximately 1,475 music fans at Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall; the show also helped to raise funds to support Goodwill Manasota’s work throughout the area.
The show had originally been booked for September but Hurricane Irma forced organizers to reschedule.
Major sponsor for the event was Sean McCutcheon’s Air Conditioning and Heating. Prior to the concert, McCutcheon and his team presented a check of $1,500 to Goodwill Manasota vice president Veronica Brandon Miller to support the nonprofit’s mission of changing lives through the power of work.
“We are very grateful for the ongoing support of 92.1 CTQ’s Maverick and Lulu, and iHeart Media,” said Goodwill Manasota vice president Veronica Brandon Miller. “This concert provided us with a wonderful opportunity to work with a trusted community partner to bring our organization to the attention of potential new friends. We are grateful to Sean McCutcheon for his generous contribution in support of our programs and services, which help community members – many of whom have barriers to finding jobs – to find and maintain employment.”
