‘Mission I Do’ 25k Military Dream Wedding Winners to Exchange Vows on Sunday at Old McMicky’s Farm

November 30, 2017 by Post

The groom is an active duty Marine and the couples’ loss of a child as well as the grooms Iraqi deployment had postponed their dream wedding
Odessa, FL (December 1, 2017) – In June, Old McMicky’s Farm (OMF) announced the winners of Old McMicky’s Farm’s $25,000 ‘Mission I Do’ (MID) Dream Military Wedding contest. The 8th FREE wedding was won by Nicole Kennedy & Jacob Woods who were married in October at the Farm. But in a surprising twist and after reading the touching story of Kayla & Giovanni Perez, the Farm decided to surprise this deserving couple by giving them an additional $25,000 military wedding in honor of Giovanni’s service and sacrifice for our country.

In April 2012, the couple found out they were expecting their first child so they ran off to the court house to get married. At the time, Giovanni was in the Army National Guard. Nine months after the birth of their first child they found out they were expecting another baby! Nine months later, Kayla got pregnant again!! They decided that they would plan their dream wedding on their 5th year anniversary… when they were done having babies. In February of 2016 their third baby passed away in the middle of the night. This year marks their 5-year anniversary and Giovanni just returned from overseas serving in Iraq just in time for their anniversary. For this couple who always wanted a “real” wedding but life keeps interrupting their dream, it will be a huge event when they will get their dream wedding for free!

The 100 attendees will watch the loving couple exchange vows at Old McMicky’s Farm at the beautiful Barn at Crescent Lake. Media is welcome to attend the wedding and the couple will be available for interviews.

When: Sunday December 3, 2017
Time: 4:30PM Ceremony
Where: Old McMicky’s Farm, 9612 Crescent Dr., Odessa, FL 33556

In appreciation of all of the men and women of our military, Old McMicky’s Farm (OMF) announced their annual “Mission I Do” $25,000 Dream Wedding Giveaway in March. The Farm received 75 entries from local deserving military couples and narrowed the entries to 8 worthy couples. On April 1st, voting was opened to the public. Although Kayla and Giovanni did not receive the most public votes, the farm was so moved by their story, that they chose to donate an additional wedding to the deserving couple. Kayla and Giovanni are receiving everything a couple dreams of on their wedding day, from a beautiful, waterfront venue and a wedding planner to award-winning catering, photography, wedding rings, wedding cake, flowers and more.

“This wedding gift is in appreciation of the service and sacrifice of those who currently serve or have served in our military. It is my firm belief that everyone who serves in our military is helping to keep our families safe, so we thought one way to show our appreciation is to help them to start families of their own.” said Ralph Zuckerman.

Old McMicky’s has donated over $125,000 to our Active Military Members & U.S Veterans in weddings through it’s Mission I Do program. Old McMicky’s Farm is thankful for the generosity of all of our vendor partners and media partners who help make ‘Mission I Do’ a reality.
