Survey Asks for Thoughts on Proposed 2018 Changes to Dr. M.L. King Jr. St. N.

November 29, 2017 by Post

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (November 29, 2017) – Next year, the city of St. Petersburg is planning to mill and resurface Dr. M.L. King Jr. St. N. from approximately 5th Ave. N. to 34th Ave. N. Residents and businesses in the Crescent Heights, Greater Woodlawn, and Magnolia Heights neighborhoods are being encouraged to provide input about future redevelopment with a voluntary survey available at www.stpete.org/transportation. The survey is available through Friday, December 8.

Resurfacing of Dr. M.L. King Jr. St. N. provides an opportunity through the city’s Complete Streets Program to implement changes to roadway striping that enable safer streets and allow for smooth, continuous traffic and pedestrian flow while supporting business needs along the corridor. Proposed recommendations include enhanced crosswalks, parallel neighborhood greenways, and bike lanes.
