TAMPA, Fla. (November 22, 2017) – Career Killers/Career Builders by John Crossman has won five awards in the 2017 Royal Dragon Fly Book Contest which recognizes excellence in all genres of literature.
John’s passion is helping college students and young professionals reach their potential by avoiding the most dangerous life choices that can cause them to ruin their careers. The book is available on Amazon, at Barnes and Noble and Books-A-Million as well as a growing number of college and university book stores.

The insightful book for Millennials, young professionals and students was honored with first
place in the in the prestigious New Author, Young Adult Non-Fiction, Self-Help/Inspirational and How-To categories. It was also an honorable mention finalist in the Education category.

Earlier this month American Book Fest announced Career Killers/Builders as a finalist in the “Business: Careers” category in the 2017 Best Book Awards. This year’s contest yielded over 2,000 entries from mainstream and independent publishers.
This book has gained a wide audience and readership, anyone from the ages 18-31, and the people that employ them. The book is not meant for just people in business, it is meant for any professional. What John has seen, on a national level, is a need for additional training resources for the Millennial group on core aspects of being a professional.
For over a decade he has been president of Crossman & Company, one of the Southeast’s largest retail leasing, management and investment sales firms, with over 28 million square feet of properties in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee. The firm recently expanded into Virginia and Mississippi.
As president he promotes the firm’s core values including a strong commitment to community service, industry education initiatives and an unwavering dedication to diversity through creating scholarships and mentoring.
He serves on numerous community, higher education and industry boards and has been recognized with many awards including Father of the Year by The American Heart Association and the Personal Empowerment Award by The Central Florida Urban League.
Prior to joining Crossman & Company, John was a principal at Trammell Crow Company, where he led their Retail Council, which worked to advance the nationwide retail strategy. In his 20-plus year career he has done over $1 billion in transactions.
Together John and his brother Scott have built Crossman & Company into one of the industries most respected and thriving commercial real estate firms. He recently authored a book, “Top 5 Career Killers, Career Builders,” based on his popular lecture series.
