Destination Christmas – Brooksville Main Street Hosts for the Second Year “Christmas on Main Street”

November 21, 2017 by Post

The City of Brooksville historically had been a destination for people around the world to visit and experience the true meaning of the Christmas Spirit.  The historic Roger’s House Christmas Village, still open today as the Roger’s Christmas House, once captured an audience of 300,000 people per year to the amazing southern town of Historic Brooksville.  Brooksville Main Street is working to capture the same spirit as it moves into its second year of hosting Christmas on Main Street.  This event is a collaboration between Brooksville Main Street, the City of Brooksville and Hernando County.  Last year, Brooksville Main Street coordinated a new Christmas Tree for the annual lighting ceremony that takes place on the Historic Hernando County Courthouse front steps garnering an audience estimated at 4,000 people.  This year Brooksville Main Street has added a series of great events to enhance the Christmas spirit that is so prevalent throughout our local community.  The organization is looking to create a reason for visitors to come into town every night to enliven all of the senses of the holidays.  Some of this year’s highlights will be our Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, nightly carolers, carriage rides and so much more.  Our local weather forecasters have even predicted a “100% Chance of Snow” nightly.  This year there will be so much opportunity to revel in the spirit of the season.  Here is a list of scheduled events that you will not want to miss!
