The 55th annual R&D 100 Awards—an international competition that recognizes the 100 most exceptional innovations in science and technology from the past year, named New Port Richey based IN10DID, Inc. and the DecaTxt keyboard a winner on Nov. 17th in Orlando. Award Winners were selected by an independent panel of more than 50 judges representing R&D leaders in a variety of fields.
The DecaTxt is a one-handed Bluetooth keyboard that provides an alternative way to use mobile devices and can help a wide variety of people, including those with blindness, limited mobility, neurological conditions or limb loss, to control computers remotely. The DecaTxt has 10 physical keys, two in each of five rows such that the fingers in one hand can press any combination of the keys. The alphabet is accomplished with a single key press or with one of the two keys near the thumb held in combination. “I’m thrilled that our small business won against such competition and it shows that we have some serious innovation here.” says IN10DID, Inc. President, Wayne Rasanen.
To qualify, the keyboard began selling publically on Amazon last year for $125. A new version is currently being financed with Crowdfunding on Indiegogo and can be seen at https://igg.me/at/decatxt .
