New virtual tour lets viewers explore the campus in Tampa, meet student guides and discover USF’s unique amenities
TAMPA, Fla. (Nov. 16, 2017) — High school students who are evaluating which college to attend now have an opportunity to get an up-close feel for the University of South Florida (USF) Tampa campus from anywhere in the world.
The new campus virtual tour will give students, parents and college counselors access to a student-led “walking tour.” This self-guided tour allows users to navigate the campus at their pace and skip around to the areas they want to see.
Current USF tour guides and students introduce 16 stops, featuring athletics, arts, academic and recreational spaces. The tour also highlights some of the exciting investments recently made at USF Tampa, such as USF’s newest student housing community, The Village, and the renovated fifth floor of the USF Library featuring 400 individual study spaces and group study rooms.
Students can discover more about USF through interactive features:
- 360-degree views
- Hidden campus hotspots
- Video and photo highlights
- Additional digital content
“The virtual campus tour is an exciting and innovative platform that gives prospective students, parents and the community a 360 view of campus and academic life at USF Tampa,” Ralph Wilcox, provost and executive vice president, said. “Engaging a rapidly changing student demographic with dynamic and inventive technology is part of the USF commitment to a student-centered experience.”
All of this gives both in-state and out-of-state students a chance to view academic and university highlights, and provides them with a strong sense of the Tampa Bay area that helps make USF attractive. This includes USF’s proximity to some of the world’s best beaches, local attractions and a bustling downtown business district that provides many opportunities for internships.
Students and parents can take the virtual tour on desktop and mobile devices. Viewers can also register for an on-campus visit, apply or contact USF for more information.
