On Thursday November 16 from 6-8pm at The Ale and Witch located at 111 2nd St. NE, we will announce the entertainment for First Night St. Petersburg 2018, presented this year by 411- PAIN. We will have entertainment by one of our New Year’s Eve acts, button package giveaways, limited edition t-shirts with art by the Vitale Brothers for $20 and fun for all.
Sunday December 31, First Night St. Petersburg 2018 will begin at 4ppm with activities and shows for kids in the First United Methodist, Trinity Lutheran churches and Mirror Lake library. The First Night Procession with giant Sea Creature Puppets created with the Morean Center for Clay Summer Campers with music by the Pinellas Sheriff’s PAL Drumline will leave the First United Methodist Church at 7:15pm and march to the waterfront for the Bubble Stomp followed by the Kids Kaboom Fireworks at 8pm.
First Night will feature many musical acts such as the rocking sounds of Ryan Montbleau and his band, blues by Damon Fowler, jazz by Henry Ashwood, the Infinite Groove Orchestra, and PCCA Gibbs Jazz Ensemble, bluegrass by the Muddy River Bottom Waders, Opera and chamber music with St. Petersburg Opera, and choral concerts by the One City Chorus and Chorus Angelorum.
Our Dance Stage will feature modern dance by Helen Hansen French and urban dance from Dundu Dole.
In the parks and around town, experience Carmada’s art cars, where artist Jujmo will be painting onsite, plus children’s art activities with the NOMADstudio art bus, portrait drawing by Creative Clay artists, ice skating. Walk the Labyrinth and make a wish for the New Year at the Resolution Bonfire or the Airship Fire Sculpture, and much more!
First Night is an exciting evening of music and art shown in over 20 venues throughout downtown St. Petersburg from 4pm until midnight. Enjoy our Firework Finale on the waterfront at midnight!
