This annual event inverse members of The Dalí Museum to meet with and view work by local artists and artisans. Each of the 12 Zodiac committee members has selected an artist to showcase.
The Museum store will also be open and offering members a special 25% discount on Store merchandise. Tickers for the event are $18 and available to Dalí Museum members & their guests on TheDali.org.
The Zodiac Membership Committee is an all-volunteer group that supports the mission of The Dalí Museum by building meaningful relationships with members, fostering new interest in the membership program, and helping to strengthen ties between the Museum, its members and the arts community. The original Zodiac Group was created in France in 1932 and consisted of 12 patrons who each sponsored Salvador Dalí for one month of the year. In exchange, patrons received a work of Dalí produced during that same month. In the spirit of these forward thinking patrons, The Dalí Zodiac Membership Committee was formed in 1996.
Kelly Aldridge is honored to have been selected to participate in this event. During the event you can expect to see a blend of her recently completed works. The showcased piece at the event will be “The Galaxy” a mixed media painting that resembles what one might see when looking into space. Ms. Aldridge uses blends of materials to create truly powerful pieces that captivate their viewers in her take on Contemporary art. Her artistic style is high impact texture that create works that are glamorous and edgy. Having had a career in the fashion industry for many years prior to exploring her talents in the arts she has blended both careers into her full time passion. The message I would like to convey to visitors is how art CAN and IS fashionable. That paintings stand out and convey ones personal style in their spaces just as other fashionable measures do.
Kelly Aldridge lives and works in St. Petersburg, FL. She is a former model and actress with a strong family history in the arts. Kelly started painting in 2007 during her modeling career. Her paintings are large scale and have high impact texture. Gaining inspiration from fashion to street art to interior design she focuses on the “wow factor” in making a statement with her art just as one does with their own personal style. Her works are held in galleries and in private collections in the US and abroad. www.kellyaldridge.com IG: @kellyaldridgeart
