ST. PETERSBURG, FL — LocalShops1 is happy to announce the 168 local artists, makers and small businesses participating in Shopapalooza Festival 2017. The event takes place 10 am to 5 pm Saturdays, Nov. 18 & 25, at South Straub Park in downtown St. Petersburg. Each day features about 130 businesses (some businesses will be there both days!).
Admission is free and open to the public.
The annual event, known as Tampa Bay’s Local Alternative to Black Friday, features swag, sales and prizes from more than 130 artists, makers, restaurants, and other local businesses each day. Shoppers will find gifts for everyone on their list. A small sampling: handcrafted jewelry, artisanal sauces, holiday ornaments, screen-printed T-shirts, vintage finds, unique home decor, fashion for all ages, gifts for pets and so much more. The event also features costumed characters, DIY crafts, demonstrations, children’s activities and an escape room. Specialty sections include:
Children’s Village, filled with games and entertainment sponsored by Great Explorations Children’s Museum (Nov 25)
and La Dee Da Kids Spa (Nov 18 and 25), plus vendors focused on children and families.
Planet Fun! with Earth-friendly activities and exhibits, sponsored by Chart 411 and St Pete Earth Day, in collaboration with Keep Pinellas Beautiful and Boyd Hill Nature Park
Escape Room with Breakaway Express mobile escape room
DIY Crafts Zone, sponsored by Practically Pikasso
Mermaid Mezzanine sponsored by Cerulean Blu
“Shopapalooza is a way to celebrate and spotlight the great independent businesses that make Tampa Bay such an amazing place,” says Ester Venouziou, LocalShops1 founder. “It gives consumers the opportunity to kick off the holiday shopping season by shopping locally!”
