Veterans Holiday Affects Thursday and Friday Trash/Recycling Collection

St. Petersburg, Fla. (November 6, 2017) – St. Petersburg hosts the fourth annual Veterans Day Celebration on Saturday, November 11, at 8 a.m. in Williams Park, corner of Fourth Street and First Avenue North, by presenting two local “2017 Honored Veteran” Awards to Carrie W. Nero and Charles Claybaker, U.S. military veterans. The event is free and open to the public.

During the Veterans Day holiday week, November 6 to 10, changes to trash and recycling collection days for St. Petersburg residential utility customers are as follows:  Thursday collections will be made on Wednesday instead; and Friday collections will be on Thursday. Residential recycling collections for Zone 6B (orange) will be picked up on Wednesday and Zone 8B (blue) will be picked up on Thursday. (This is a change from the mailed 2017 residential recycling calendar for those zones due to the city’s observance of Veterans Day on November 10).

Monday and Tuesday collections remain the same.

In addition, please note that all city of St. Petersburg libraries will be closed Friday, November 10 (City Holiday) AND Saturday, November 11 (Federal Holiday) in observance of Veterans Day.
