ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – (Nov. 3, 2017) – Entrepreneur, executive and mentor Steve Parker has been named a director at TEC Garage, an incubator and coworking entrepreneurial center operated by Tampa Bay Innovation Center. He is responsible for developing strategic goals for client service, providing business assistance to clients, recruiting and coordinating a resource network and linking clients to funding opportunities.

Parker has 36 years of experience, primarily with startups. As president of his last two Tampa-based companies, he created jobs and award-winning operations in both the power supply and luminaire markets. He has spent the bulk of his career in high-tech instrumentation and lighting and is the author of Lighting the Way to North America – from Startup to EBITDA. Lighting Certified (LC) through National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (NCQLP), he sits on three of the UL standards technical panels.
Parker, a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain, is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society and American Lighting Association. He is also chairman of the advisory board of Stay In Step, a spinal cord and traumatic brain injury recovery center.
