Nov. 2, 2017 (Tampa, FL) – The local business community of Seminole Heights invites neighbors to celebrate the holiday season with a series of shopping events, prize giveaways, and block parties.
Visit local businesses and restaurants for sales and prize opportunities on Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the Fifth Annual Holiday Shop Hop to celebrate Small Business Saturday. A community “After Party” that evening with music, bogo ice cream, wine tastings, and raffles will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Graham Building, 6701 Florida Ave., to award prizewinners and to raise funds for Lowry Park Zoo.

A portion of event proceeds and donations collected for the zoo will be formally presented at dusk the following Saturday, Dec. 2, during Seminole Heights’ first-ever Tree Lighting at The Graham Building. Former Tampa Police Chief Jane Castor is scheduled to speak. Event attendees will also enjoy music, tastings, and a chance to vote for local businesses with the best holiday lights.
Located just north of downtown Tampa, the Seminole Heights area is a tree-shaded neighborhood nestled in the heart of the urban corridor. Many of the bungalows and restored homes date back to the early 1900s. Some of these homes are included in our National Register and local Historic Districts to ensure their preservation for generations to come. The neighborhood continues to grow and attract new residents of all ages and diverse cultural backgrounds with its beautiful homes and thriving independent business community.
