Keeping our Visitors Safe with Keys to Safety Cards

October 30, 2017 by Post

Key to Safety Cards distributed to visitors with their room key at check-in

St. Pete Beach, FL, October 30, 2017 – In an ongoing effort to promote pedestrian safety, the Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce distributed an additional 30,000 Key to Safety cards to hotels and vacation rentals along the beaches.

The Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with Walk/Bike Tampa Bay, created inserts to be included with a visitor’s room key. This insert outlines the key safety tips needed when being a pedestrian in our community.

Walk/Bike Tampa Bay is a grassroots effort to education the citizens of Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco Counties regarding the importance of pedestrian safety.  The Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce recognizes the importance of this education and has taken it a step further, educating our visitors.  By creating the Key to Safety key card, our guests become aware of how to use the crosswalk system along Gulf Boulevard.

Pedestrian safety is an issue that affects everyone.  We are all pedestrians at some point during the day.  Whether walking through a parking lot after shopping, walking back to your hotel from dining out, exercising or simply walking to enjoy a beautiful Florida day, you are a pedestrian.
