
SARASOTA, FL: Music Compound is excited to welcome Astara Summers to their team. Astara Summers is a modern day troubadour, accomplished singer/songwriter, recording artist, published author, blogger, teacher and speaker. Astara has an extensive portfolio of over 100 original songs and unique poems. Her song “Troubled Child” was awarded semi-finalist placement in the 2015 international Song of the Year contest. Astara has created and facilitated unique, transformational workshops relating to personal growth and self empowerment where participants explore meditation, journal writing, art, music, and sound and body movement to find their true voice and better understand themselves and their lives. Born in Eau Claire Wisconsin, Astara has lived on both coasts, in the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona on the beaches of Kauai, Hawaii and the rocky mountains of Colorado. She has spent time in Thailand, Germany, Canada and Mexico and currently resides in Sarasota Florida with her husband and son. Her daily practices include yoga, meditation, prayer, journaling, guitar and singing. Astara brings a kind and loving energy along with numerous artistic skills to the Music Compound.
Astara will be showcasing her unique talents by offering two specialty groups at Music Compound, Songwriting 101 and Personal Empowerment for Performers (PEP). Songwriting 101 is a fun interactive 4-week session that will provide inspiration and techniques to hone artists thoughts and put
them to music. It is ideal for all ages and will take place Tuesday evenings from 6-7pm starting November 7th. Personal Empowerment for Performers, also known as PEP, is another 4-week fun filled interactive group starting November 7th. This session with be held Tuesday evenings from 7-8pm and will focus on instilling courage, confidence and an understanding of what holds back a performer from a true and powerful expression of their talent. Music Compound is also excited to welcome Heather Charles, Kaylee Betts, Rick Brothers, Jennie Caskey, Sarah Vitale and Carlos Silva to their team. Music Compound has added nearly 20 jobs in 2017.
