St. Petersburg, FL, this Friday October 27th at Blanton Elementary School’s Annual Fall Festival – Tampa Bay is so excited to debut the FIRST ever Magic Wheelchair build in the state of Florida. Please join us on this special day when we reveal the costume, and bring big smiles to the faces of Aiden, a first grade boy in a wheelchair, and his family and classmates.
Magic Wheelchair is a non-profit whose mission is to put a smile on the face of every child in a wheelchair. Each build takes many volunteers and countless hours to create. They are truly epic, and make kids who often feel left out during the Halloween season, feel like the King or Queen of Halloween!
The Tampa volunteers who built Aiden’s costume are first time wheelchair costume builders! Led by local attorney, Bowen Brown, this multigenerational family and friend team pooled their engineering and artistic talents to make Aiden’s vision come true in just one month! The team have spent countless hours learning to use all variety of build media to make a light, yet durable, but still epic costume to fit onto Aiden’s wheelchair. This reveal party is all about Aiden though! An adorable first grader at Blanton Elementary, Aiden is so excited to be two characters from his favorite movie, Wall-e. The spaceship Axiom’s brave Captain and the dutiful but misguided ship’s wheel, Autopilot.
