Plans Call for 35 More Restaurants Along Florida West Coast
Tampa – Smashburger will open its first Tampa location on October 19th.
The Denver-based burger chain — known for burgers that are literally smashed against a grill — will open in The Shoppes of South Dale, a shopping center redevelopment across South Dale Mabry Highway from Britton Plaza.
Smashburger’s other Tampa Bay locations are in Clearwater and Sarasota. The Tampa Bay locations feature local craft beers and a “Media Noche” Burger — topped with smoked ham, aged Swiss cheese, pickles, red onion and mustard on an egg bun.
Smashburger franchisee Regrub, LLC plans to open 35 additional stores throughout west central Florida over the next 5-6 years. The international hamburger locations will dot the west coast of Florida as far south as Naples in Collier County up to The Villages in the Ocala area.
Regrub said that each store expects to employ 30 people, adding approximately 1,400 new jobs to the region. Regrub’s capital investment in all 37 stores will total $37 million.
The South Tampa Smashburger is located at 4035 South Dale Mabry, Tampa, FL 33611 in the Shoppes of South Dale plaza with doors opening at 10:00 AM.
