Explorations V is among 100 non-profit organizations that were granted by Disney across fiveCentral Florida counties.
Orlando, Fla. Sept. 29, 2017 – Explorations V Children’s Museum received $15,000 this year from Walt Disney World Resort through Disney Grants. With the funds, Explorations V supports educational programs for children and families.
Georgann Carlton, CEO, said “Overall, Disney grant funds support the Museum’s more than 500 education programs which offer academic, artistic and cultural enrichment opportunities. These programs develop creativity and critical thinking skills in our children while strengthening families.”
Along with 99 other nonprofits and organizations throughout Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lakeand Polk counties, Explorations V was granted a special “Mousecar” award by Disney at a ceremony held 9/29/17 at the Orlando Museum of Art. In all, Walt Disney World Resort awarded nearly $4 million in Disney Grants in support of efforts to positively impact the lives of over 300,000 local children and their families.
The Disney Grants directly support Central Floridians and help to strengthen our neighborhoods, inspire our children, create stronger family bonds and promote a more compassionate environment.
Explorations V Children’s Museum, a private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is located in downtown Lakeland in the historic S.H. Kress Building. Four floors of mind stretching, kid-powered exhibits and programs provide a hands-on, fun-filled adventure in learning for children and their families. Hours are Monday – Saturday, 9am to 5:30pm. Admission is $9 per person and family memberships are $90. Active military and their family, Senior citizens 65+ and teachers with ID are $4.50. Access/EBT card holders are $3 per person. Children under two are free. Members of Explorations V Children’s Museum are also free.
