(SARASOTA, Fla., October 3, 2017) Sarasota Music Club’s recently elected board of directors will serve until 2019. The board will oversee two years of professional musician performance programs, as well as the organization’s participation in Suncoast Music Scholarships, a partnership with Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota..
Mary Webb will continue her tenure as board President. Additional officers serving on the board are: Jan Balazs, 1st Vice President; Barbara Chertok, 2nd Vice President; Janet Jackson, Secretary and Treasurer; Charlyn Craver, Communications Secretary; and John Fischer, Assistant Treasurer. At Large board members include: Louise Baar, June Buck, Barbara Roth Donaldson, Wes Snyder and Dorothy Whaley.
Sarasota Music Club, founded in 1930 as an offshoot of the historic Sarasota Women’s Club, is the oldest organization supporting professional music performance in the Sarasota area. The club also has a long history of funding scholarships to support music education.
The free monthly performances begin on October 20 and are held at Sunnyside Village, 5201 Bahia Vista St., Sarasota. The club’s member and donor supported music programs are open to the public, with a $2 donation requested.

The Sarasota Music Club was founded in 1930 to promote music appreciation, study and performance. Its member supported performances are offered free to the public October through March. The Club is a member of the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Sarasota County and is affiliated with the Florida Federation of Music Clubs and the National Federation of Music Clubs.
