SARASOTA, Fla. (Sept. 25, 2017) – Students looking to boost their college entrance scores can turn to a variety of preparatory classes now offered at USF Sarasota-Manatee.
The classes – for the SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT and LSAT – prepare students to take standardize tests for entry into college, graduate school, medical school and law school. They’re offered as part of the campus’ Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) program. “An increase of just a few points on these tests can mean the difference between being accepted by a college program or not,” said Dr. Dina Ciotola, director of PACE at USFSM. “And with scholarship dollars potentially on the line, applicants will benefit from performing their best on test day.” The two- to three-hour sessions are presented through a mix of live-online and on-demand classes over several days. Many are offered at night or on weekends to accommodate students’ busy schedules. Students can log-in from anywhere to interact with their instructors and classmates, and because the sessions are recorded they can watch them later at a time that’s convenient. If they have questions, they can contact their instructor during live-online office hours. The prep sessions are intended to help students improve their test scores by going over topics generally covered on the exams. All textbooks and workbooks are included in the course fees, and course materials will be sent to students’ homes at no additional charge.
