The Rotary Club of Spring Hill Central will host a Pars vs. Polio Golf Tournament on Saturday, October 28, at Hernando Oaks Golf Course, Brooksville, FL. The shotgun start will begin at 10 a.m.
Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. with a $75 entry fee per person or $300 team. The format is a four-person scramble. Men will hit from white tee markers and ladies will hit from the red tee markers. A buffet lunch and awards will follow the tournament. A hole-in-one tournament play is sponsored by Rick Matthews Buick GMC.
This event is open to the public. All proceeds will benefit PolioPlus, a program established by Rotary International to eradicate polio throughout the globe. Eradicating polio will be a huge health victory. When Rotary began the fight to end this disease, polio infected nearly 350,000 people – mostly children – in 125 countries every year. Since then, the number of polio cases has plummeted by more than 99 percent and the wild poliovirus remains endemic to isolated pockets in only three countries. Last year there were only 37 cases reported. Rotary and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation have continued to pledge monies and resources to end this disease.
