SARASOTA, Fla. – September 26, 2017 – FCCI announced today that effectiveOctober 1, the Company is welcoming James Michael Welch (Mike) to its Board of Directors. Mike has been associated with FCCI as an agent for more than thirty years and was chosen for this critical role based on his acute appreciation for and understanding of FCCI’s history and legacy, in addition to his industry knowledge and agent perspective.
The eldest of ten children, Mike served honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He began his insurance career in Florida in 1973, first as a property adjuster and later joining Poe & Associates, now Brown & Brown. He eventually opened his own insurance agency, Commercial Insurance Marketing Inc., along with his wife, Nadine. The agency achieved the status of Chairman’s Club, FCCI’s highest agency distinction.
Now retired from the insurance agency, Mike and Nadine spend time in South Carolina where they are opening a sporting clays course. Active in local charities, particularly Suncoast Charities for Children, Mike believes in giving back and helping those who are less fortunate.
Craig Johnson, CPA, MBA, chairman of the board, president & CEO, said “Mike and Nadine have been extraordinary ambassadors for FCCI. We are looking forward to Mike’s contributions as a Board Member.
