LARGO – Literary arts group Wordier Than Thou and Exquisite Entertainers present their third annual Banned Books Burlesque show in celebration of Banned Books Week Saturday, Sept. 30, 7 to 11 p.m., at Barley Mow Brewing Company, 518 W. Bay Dr.
Some of the area’s most talented burlesque performers will interpret famous banned books. In the past, performances have included “Alice in Wonderland,” “Harry Potter,” “Gone with the Wind” and “The Great Gatsby.”
Advance general admission tickets are $15 per person and $20 the day of the show. VIP tickets are available for $30 and include one beer, front-row seats and Banned Books Burlesque swag.

“We’re really proud of this three-year running production,” said Mayven Missbehavin, owner of Exquisite Entertainers. “Those attending will get to experience an up-close and personal burlesque experience that incorporates some of the performers’ favorite banned books.”
Wordier Than Thou, which was founded in 2012, is dedicated to supporting the local literary arts community through fun and engaging events. The organization also runs a literary salon in the Pinellas Arts Village in Pinellas Park.
