Pasco-Hernando State College has adjusted its 2017-18 academic calendar and commencement dates due to significant interruptions in college operations caused by hurricane Irma. PHSC District Board of Trustees and the President’s Administrative Leadership Team approved the proposed Hurricane Irma Curriculum Continuity Plan, adjusting the academic calendar and commencement dates. This plan effectively addresses the loss of seven instructional days and ensures that instructors and students have the time needed to cover course content for effective learning outcomes.
The changes include:
Thursday, October 5 – full day of classes for students; the previously scheduled All College Day, faculty and staff professional development event, will be held during the spring semester.
Wednesday, October 18 – Term IA ends (extended from October 13)
Thursday, October 19 – Term IB begins (instead of October 16)
Friday, December 8 – full instructional day, instead of the last day of classes for the semester.
Monday, December 11 – full instructional day/evening.
Tuesday, December 12 –full instructional day/evening.
Wednesday, December 13 –final instructional day/evening for the semester. Nursing Pinning Ceremony will be held in the evening at the West Campus in New Port Richey.
Thursday, December 14 – Winter Commencement Ceremonies.
