DETAILS: Children and parents are invited to celebrate reading and rain, as participants create rain sticks, decorate umbrellas and read the book “Maya Prays For Rain.” This event is sponsored by the Jewish Community Center.
This event is in celebration of the Jewish holiday Shemini Atzeret, on which Jews worldwide pray for rain. An animated discussion about the blessings of rain will ensue, to further educate the children.
