LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. — Neal Communities (NealCommunities.com), southwest Florida’s premier, private homebuilder, is celebrating the completion of Central Park after selling the community’s final home site.
Seven years after the master-planned community of Central Park opened in July 2010, all 825 home sites within the award-winning and family-friendly community, located in the heart of Lakewood Ranch, have been sold.
Homes within Central Park were carefully designed to surround a 10-acre park, providing easy access to all residents. The community was the first of its kind in Lakewood Ranch, receiving the prestigious Aurora Award for its innovative residential design and has been embraced by homeowners for its amenities, preserved wetlands and habitat areas, home design elements and small-town neighborhood feel.
Similar to Central Park in New York, which has a famous namesake, the neighborhoods within Central Park are named for well-known parks across the U.S., including Claremont Park, Gramercy Park, Piedmont Park and Longview Lake Park, among others.
“There’s a real sense of community that’s developed here, and it continues to develop,” said Sue Balloch, who moved to Central Park four years ago. “Even after the community has been around for seven years, that strong sense of pride and camaraderie is still there. The park is the focal point of the Central Park community. I think the park more easily allows us to have a central place to do activities with our neighbors and creates a stronger sense of community.”
In addition to its beautiful park, Central Park features two dog parks, a kid’s adventure park, splash park, tennis courts, large and open recreational fields for baseball, soccer of football, a covered pavilion and walking trails.
“When my husband and I first moved into the neighborhood, we were impressed with all of the beautiful landscaping and the colorfulness of the community,” said Christa Rogalla, who moved to Central Park six years ago. “It just felt nice to be here. It’s a happy and cheerful place.”
The one-of-a-kind neighborhood is nestled between two top-rated schools, B.D. Gullett Elementary and Lakewood Ranch High School, with a middle school scheduled to be built within walking distance of the community. The new middle school is projected to be open for the 2019-20 school year.
