BRADENTON, FL – Goodwill Manasota’s Job Connection program is hosting a multi-employer job fair on Wednesday, September 20, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at its corporate campus (2705 51st Ave. E., Bradenton). More than 40 area companies are signed up to participate, all with job openings they are seeking to fill.
Numerous industries will be represented during the event, from manufacturing (PGT), food service and production (Tropicana and Culver’s Bradenton) and retail operations (Beall’s and Lowe’s) to nonprofits (Goodwill, Red Cross and AARP), government entities (Sarasota and Manatee County Sheriff’s Departments and Sarasota County Government), and healthcare organizations (Sarasota Memorial Healthcare System and Venice Regional Bayfront Health). Candidates of all experience levels are welcome; they are asked to bring a resume and be dressed for an interview.
Through its Job Connection program, Goodwill provides career counseling, interest and aptitude assessments, assistance with resume and cover letter writing skills, interview strengthening exercises, and application submission guidance. Goodwill not only employs individuals with disabilities, veterans, older adults, and those with other barriers to employment, the organization also provides them with ongoing education and skills training to maintain stable employment.
“Our mission is changing lives through the power of work. When people have jobs, they have security – a step in the right direction on the road to self-sufficiency,” said Bob Rosinsky, president and CEO of Goodwill Manasota. “Our Job Connection services assist individuals with disabilities, people with limited work history, veterans who are transitioning to civilian life, workers who have experienced corporate downsizing and senior citizens who need to re-enter the workforce. We are thrilled at the number of local companies who will be present during our job fair and are hopeful that job seekers will enjoy success during the event.”
