St. Petersburg, FL (September 1, 2017) – The local nonprofit Operation: Military Matters is teaming up with Texas Roadhouse in St. Petersburg, 10105 Bay Pines Boulevard, for a fundraiser on Monday, September 25, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Ten percent of the sales that night will go to Operation: Military Matters to help send care packages to the military overseas. Throughout the month of September there will be a collection box at the St. Petersburg Texas Roadhouse for the community to drop off donations for the military. You are encouraged to stop by and sign cards that will go in the care packages.
The organization Operation: Military Matters is a 501 (c) (3) and was created by the two girls Graci Tubbs (11) and Ava Spano (11) to let the military serving overseas know how much people back home care about them. Tubbs and Spano collect donations from the community to put in the care packages. They include: handwritten cards, toiletry items, shampoo, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, snacks, hard candy, wipes, games, instant coffee, gummy bears, romen noodles, beef jerky, tuna or salmon packs, tea gallon zip lock bags, hand lotion, trail mix, socks, dvds, etc.
