SARASOTA, Fla. — Jodi Ruberg, a seasoned attorney and southwest Florida native, has joined Kirk Pinkerton, PA, where she’ll focus on commercial litigation. Her history with the firm stretches back to a family tragedy 15 years ago.
Ruberg first encountered Kirk Pinkerton as a teenager, when her family worked with the firm in the wake of her grandfather’s drowning, after an emergency dispatch error had delayed paramedics for nearly 25 minutes.
“As tragic as his death was,” Ruberg says, “it ignited a flame out of my already sparked desire to learn how to appropriately use the legal system to help people.”
Prior to joining Kirk Pinkterton, the Lemon Bay High School alum served most recently as general counsel for SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, managing litigation for all 13 of the company’s parks, including Busch Gardens, Adventure Island and Discovery Cove, in five states. Previously, she was a litigation attorney for FCCI Insurance Group and an associate attorney with Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin.
“The depth of Jodi’s experience and knowledge in complex business law and litigation is impressive,” says Thomas Shults, a trial lawyer with Kirk Pinkerton. “She will no doubt serve our clients very well.”
Ruberg earned her Juris Doctor from the Florida State University College of Law in 2012.
