SARASOTA, Fla. — MBJ Group (MBJGroup.com), a talent management company, recently spearheaded the successful search for the vice president of philanthropy for All-Star Children’s Foundation, an organization with the goal of providing state-of-the-art treatment for childhood trauma on its Campus of Caring.
With over 25 years of experience in nonprofit management, Beth Bush began her new role at the nonprofit last week. During her career, she managed budgets that ranged from $100,000 to over $15 million, supervised more than 15 staff members and was responsible for fundraising, volunteer recruitment and retention, marketing, special events and community engagements, among other activities.
Following a 21-year career with the American Red Cross, she was most recently a consultant for A Life Story (ALS Foundation) and provided guidance and support for the nonprofit. Concurrently, she served as the vice president of philanthropy for JoshProvides Epilepsy Assistance Foundation.
In Bush’s new role, she will develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that will support a foster children’s trauma center in Sarasota. As a key member of the senior staff, which also includes co-founders Graci and Dennis McGillicuddy and Executive Director Lucia Branton, she will have a pivotal role in executing All-Star Children’s Foundation’s vision, raising funds and working to ensure continued support for the campus.
“We were looking for someone with a passion for children and a high level of skill in the areas of development and philanthropy,” said Branton. “Beth has such a genuine persona about her, and we could see that the mission of our program resonated with her. She has been embedded in our community for many years, and her skill level matched what we were looking for. We feel she would fit into the All-Star Children’s Foundation family.”
All-Star Children’s Foundation is building its state-of-the-art Campus of Caring that will include a center for trauma-focused clinical services and provide children, from infants to age 18, who have been victimized by abuse with a nurturing, family-style home environment and comprehensive, trauma-sensitive treatment. Developed in collaboration with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, this program will become the gold standard in healing childhood trauma and developing children’s skills necessary to build resiliency.
