Hudson, Florida (August 29, 2017) – Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point recently honored its teen volunteers at its 20th Annual Teen Volunteer Appreciation Award luncheon on Saturday, August 12 at the RMCBP Shoreline Café. The luncheon was to recognize the services of the many teens who volunteer to help at RMCBP.
This year again approximately 100 teens ages 15 to 18 volunteered during the hospital’s summer program in a variety of hospital departments. During the ceremony the teens were recognized for the hours they served with pins, certificates, and letter commemorating their time in service to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point.
Many of the students used their volunteer hours to apply for scholarships. At the awards ceremony Donna Owen, Director of Volunteer and Pastoral Care, recognized 14 teens who had achieved recognition as Five Star award winners. “These outstanding young men and young women have done exceptional service with our patients, visitors, and staff and have gone above and beyond in service and are receiving this award for their accomplishments,” said Donna. “They displayed an inner drive to always go the extra mile with substituting and taking on weekend shifts and giving assistance to family and gifts with a cheerful smile and a kind, understanding word,” she added.
