Ovarian Cancer: Fact vs. Fiction and the Role Oncologic Genetics Plays
Cancer is caused by changes to genes that control the way cells function, particularly how they grow and divide. While cancer affects millions of people every year, it is not possible to know why one person develops cancer and another doesn’t. Research has shown that certain risk factors may increase a person’s chance of developing cancer. These risk factors not only include environmental exposure, genetics and other behaviors, but they also include things people can’t control, such as age and family history. Join us for an informative discussion on the relationship between genetics and ovarian cancer, how it is diagnosed and current treatment options. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED Register via phone at (813) 660-6101 or online at www.tgh.org/healthed
