Lou Prida Jr. appointed to second term on the Tampa Sports Authority Board

August 17, 2017 by Post

Lou Prida Jr., CPA and President of Prida Guida & Company, was reappointed to the Tampa Sports Authority Board for his second four-year term.

During his first term, major upgrades were completed for Raymond James Stadium and Steinbrenner Field. The Tampa Sports Authority was also responsible for bringing larger events to the area such as the CONCACAF Gold Cup and the Super Bowl, which will be hosted here in 2021.

“I think it’s very important. The city has to compete in a marketplace,” says Prida. “It’s an investment that we need to make in order to attract businesses.”

The Tampa Sports Authority was created in 1965 and oversees planning, developing and maintaining sports and recreational facilities around Tampa Bay as well as contract bidding for major sporting events. Prida was sworn in Friday, August 11th, 2017, at Office of the City Clerk.
