New Port Richey, FL – The City of New Port Richey Parks and Recreation Department, will host Canoe Battleship on Saturday, September 9th, 2017 from 5:00-8:30pm at the Recreation and Aquatic Center located at 6630 Van Buren St., New Port Richey.
In our 3rd Annual Co-ed Canoe Battleship, canoes of four players will fight it out in a tournament style battle in the Recreation and Aquatic Center lap pool. Each canoe will be given two buckets, one shield, and one cup to try to maneuver and sink the other canoes while keeping water out of their own. The last canoe to remain afloat will be crowned the winner and will receive championship t-shirts.
Registration for this event began in August and will end on Thursday, September 7th. You may register online at Nprrec.org or at the Recreation and Aquatic Center. The cost is $20 per team. Please note that the tournament will begin promptly at 5:00pm. All participants must be registered, in position, and ready to begin by 4:45pm. Spectators are welcome to come and watch the fun as four canoes enter the water but only one leaves!
