A community prayer vigil has been scheduled for tomorrow night. We would love to have you present to show support for our community as we initiate a spirit of unity through love.
Tampa, FL 8/14/17 – On Saturday, August 12th, citizens from across our great nation and the world watched in disbelief as hate and intolerance appeared to take center stage in Charlottesville, VA. Showing a sign of misplaced solidarity, White supremacists violently attacked, prodded and intimidated counter-protesters. Sadly, 32-year-old Heather Heyer was killed and at least 19 others were injured when a car plowed into a crowd of anti-hate demonstrators. Additionally, two state police officers monitoring the protest were killed when their helicopter crashed to the ground.
As a community of faith, it is important that we speak up and speak out against this type of violence. It is clear to most people that this was an act of domestic terrorism. God has called us to be a voice and a conduit; to spread love in the face of hate. We are asking the community to join us for a prayer vigil at Allen Temple AME Church on Wednesday, August 16th at 7:00 pm. The church is located at 2101 N. Lowe Street, Tampa, FL. This event is open to the public.
For more information please contact Allen Temple AME Church at (813) 229-1438.
We’d love to have you as our special invited guest on this Wednesday Night, August 16, at 7pm to represent our local community.
Thank you in advance for your consideration,
